Overview

Jas, the Physicist is the creative and outreach branch of JTPMath: a project that transforms advanced mathematical and physical ideas into lyric, rhythm, and sound. Jas, the Physicist began as a personal experiment in 2020: a way to merge the structure of mathematics with the rhythm of hip-hop. At first it felt impossible to reconcile authenticity in both worlds. Over time, through study and performance, the project found its form as a method for expressing formal reasoning through genuine hip-hop craft. Each composition explores a different concept: algebraic topology through rhyme, symmetry breaking through flow, or analytic reasoning through cadence. The goal is to make mathematical structure something people can hear and feel.

Mission

To bridge science and art by revealing that mathematics and hip-hop share the same architecture of logic, rhythm, and transformation.
The project demonstrates that the creativity behind a proof and the creativity behind a verse come from the same impulse: turning structure into expression.

Work

  • 🎧 Tracks: short pieces and full songs exploring topics from number theory to physics.
  • 🎙️ Performances: lecture-style shows that combine live math explanations with music.
  • 🎓 Education & Outreach: workshops for students, educators, and creators on using rhythm to understand mathematical reasoning.
